MBA in the Big Apple

The Cornell-Queen's Executive MBA Program enrolled a record number of students in New York City in its Class of 2011. The class, which entered in late June, includes 14 participants based in two midtown locations; they will spend three Saturdays per month learning with more than 100 participants from across the United States and Canada via videoconferencing.

The Cornell-Queen's Executive MBA program is a partnership between the Johnson School at Cornell University and Canada's Queen's University. Information: http://www.cornellemba.com.

The New York City chapter of the Cornell Hotel Society invites new students from the New York City area to tour several New York City hotels. ILR School

Open house for the Cornell ILR/CUNY Undergraduate Joint Certificate in Labor Relations, Aug. 12, 6 p.m., Cornell Conference Center, 16 E. 34th St., sixth floor, Room A. This 16-credit Undergraduate Certificate Program is offered through Cornell's School of Industrial and Labor Relations and CUNY's Joseph S. Murphy Institute for Workers Education and Labor Studies. The program is designed to provide students with an understanding of employment relations, labor law and unions. Weekday evening classes (worth four credits each) begin the first week in September and include Collective Bargaining, Labor and Employment Law, Unions and Labor Relations, Work, Culture and Politics in New York City, and Labor History.
