February 2008

The Cornell men's and women's basketball teams are poised to win their Ivy League titles, which would propel them into the NCAA tournaments. The men's team is undefeated in the league and can clinch the title with two more wins. The team last played in the NCAA tournament in 1988, when it lost to the University of Arizona. Before that, the Big Red lost to both Navy and North Carolina State in the 1954 tournament. The women are 9-1 in the league, and it would be their first trip to the Big Dance.
Watch the teams in action live via RedCast: Cheer for the Big Red as the men take on Dartmouth, Feb. 29, and Harvard, March 1. Tune in for the women's games against Penn and Princeton, March 7 and 8.
Cornell Provost Biddy Martin will deliver the second annual Academic State of the University Address, March 5 at 4:30 p.m. in Call Alumni Auditorium, Kennedy Hall, on campus. The speech will be webcast live on CornellCast. (Real Player required to watch the live stream)
