The King of Swing

The largest crowd in memory turned out to see members of the Cornell Jazz Ensemble at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts June 8 that celebrated bandleader Benny Goodman's 100th birthday. Speakers were used in the lobby to accommodate the overflow crowd. The audience of jazz lovers discovered Cornell's music program and its availability to New Yorkers.
