Deborah Streeter honored for innovation, entrepreneurship

Deborah Streeter, the Bruce F. Failing Sr. Professor of Personal Enterprise in the Department of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell, has been recognized with the 2007 Olympus Innovation Award. The award, sponsored in partnership with the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA), recognizes individuals who have fostered and demonstrated innovative thinking among students through inventive teaching methods, projects and case studies.

Streeter was cited for her contributions to Cornell and to the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. Her "eClips" program, a database of over 7,000 free digital video clips about entrepreneurship, business and leadership that is being used in more than 800 universities and close to 70 countries, is recognized for its role in making education materials widely available and for providing rich curricular material to help develop the field.

Streeter was honored at an awards ceremony March 22 at the opening banquet of the NCIIA's 11th annual meeting in Tampa, Fla.
