Meinigs and Milsteins
Meinig family gives $25 million for life sciences research; Milstein family honored

The Meinig gift, announced May 25, will establish the Nancy and Peter Meinig Family Investigatorships in the Life Sciences. Pictured above at left, Peter '61 is chairman of the Cornell Board of Trustees, and Nancy '62 is a member of the Cornell University Council. Read about the announcement. On May 24, the university held a building-naming ceremony for Paul Milstein Hall and honored the Milsteins as "positive forces for change" at Cornell. Skorton calls for a new kind of Marshall Plan to reduce worldwide inequalities

Speaking in Schoellkopf Stadium at his first Cornell Commencement May 27, President David Skorton warned of "a humanitarian crisis of the first order" that is "a threat to the stability of a world community, intercultural understanding, to peace, and yes, to your future as new graduates." Red hot hockey
Don't miss the revival of one of the fiercest rivalries in college hockey when the Big Red men's hockey team takes on the Boston University Terriers at Madison Square Garden! Tickets are on sale now for the Nov. 24 matchup, with seating in the Cornell section available through the Cornell Athletics ticket office.

Have a ball in Hong Kong
Come and celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Hong Kong handover at the Ivy Ball 2007. The event takes place June 23 at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and is open to Ivy League and MIT alumni. For ticket information, contact the Cornell Club of Hong Kong.

London calling
President David J. Skorton will give a talk in London, England, on the evening of June 25 at the East India Club, 16 S. James's Square. He will meet with Cornellians and talk about his plans for the university. For information, contact Natalie Teich '65.
