Simran Sethi speaks on communicating sustainability messages during an April 27 seminar.

Self-described sustainability journalist Simran Sethi spoke during an April 27 campus visit on how to effectively convey information about climate change and environmental justice. Sethi was the semester's last invited speaker for Seminar in Sustainable Development, a course cross-listed with the Johnson School and the Department of Applied Economics and Management, and taught by economics professor Alan McAdams.

A freelance journalist who recently hosted a television series called Ethical Markets, Sethi spoke on her experiences communicating sustainability messages to broader audiences. For example, Sethi played a clip of her recent appearance on the "Oprah Winfrey Show," where she illustrated the benefits of reusable aluminum water bottles in place of disposable plastic bottles.
