Parking suggestions, road and parking lot closures for Commencement Weekend

The university has issued a list of special changes for roads and parking on campus to accommodate Commencement Weekend activities, May 23-25.

Friday, May 23

Parking: Sage Hall parking lot will close at 5 p.m. until 6 a.m. Sunday, May 25.

Crescent Lot will close at 5 p.m. until approximately 4 p.m. Sunday, May 25. Any remaining cars towed at the owner's expense.

Saturday, May 24

Parking lots: The following lots will close at 1 a.m., with any remaining cars towed:

  • Parking garage (except for mobility-impaired permit holders): closed until approximately 2 p.m., Sunday.
  • Barton Hall east end parking spaces will close until approximately 4 p.m. Sunday.

Road closures:

  • From 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Campus Road, from Garden Avenue to the Bartels Hall metered lot.
Sunday, May 25

Parking lots: The following will close at 1 a.m., with any remaining cars towed. Lots will reopen at approximately 4 p.m. Sunday, unless otherwise noted.

  • Parking garage (except for mobility-impaired permit holder), until approximately 2 p.m. Sunday.
  • Day Hall parking lot, loading dock lot and ILR parking lot.
  • Garden Avenue parking spaces.

Road closures: 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

  • Campus Road, from West Avenue to College Avenue, until 11 a.m. Campus Road between College Avenue and Tower Road. Campus Road, from West Avenue to College Avenue, eastbound lane only (until 11 a.m.).
  • Campus Road, between College Avenue and Tower Road.
  • West Avenue, southbound lane (8-11 a.m.).
  • East Avenue.
  • Hoy Road.
  • Garden Avenue between Campus Road and Tower Road.
  • Wing Drive between Campus Road and Tower Road.
  • Judd Falls Road between Tower Road and Route 366.
  • Tower Road between East Avenue and Judd Falls Road.

Parking for Commencement Sunday:

Cornell Transportation Services suggests parking in the "B" lot near the Veterinary College and in the "A" lot on Pleasant Grove Road. Regular shuttle buses will be running from those lots to the stadium. After the ceremonies, the buses will go to both parking lots from central campus bus stops.
