Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a company that specializes in education and study abroad, has published its first World University Rankings by individual discipline, with Cornell making the top 25 in every category.

QS has published university rankings since 2004, formerly as a joint venture with London-based Times Higher Education. The company began publishing independent rankings in 2010.

Most recently, QS ranked Cornell No. 16 overall in the world in 2010. This year's individual disciplines were ranked based on such criteria as citations, academic peer review and recruiter reviews.
