More than 100 students, staff and senior administrators joined Professor Robin L. Davisson on the upper level of the Cornell Store, Nov. 23, to surprise President David J. Skorton with wishes for a happy 60th birthday.

A large card signed by staff, students and faculty from many different departments and buildings across campus, chocolate cake and proclamations from the Student Assembly, Employee Assembly and Graduate and Professional Student Assembly marked the occasion. The student a cappella group Class Notes led a rendition of "Happy Birthday," followed by "That's the Way It Goes" and "Dancin' in the Street." To honor the president's birthday campuswide, the chimesmaster played "Happy Birthday" from McGraw Tower, and free chocolate cake was served at lunch in dining halls across campus.
