East Avenue to close Oct. 22-26; bus routes, shuttle will be affected

East Avenue will be closed, Oct. 22-26, to allow for steam line work. Pedestrian traffic will be permitted across the avenue and on the east and west sidewalks. Vehicle and parking access to Day Hall will be maintained.

TCAT buses will detour as follows:

  • The Sage Hall bus stop will be relocated to Uris Hall.
  • The Teagle Hall bus stop will be relocated to Corson Mudd Hall.
  • The Barton Hall bus stop will be relocated to Kennedy Hall.
  • The Statler Hall bus stop will be relocated across the street from Uris Hall.
  • The East Hill Shuttle will offer only one central campus stop, located on the west side of Barton Hall.
  • Chemung/Schuyler County Transit, Tioga County Public Transit, Tioga Transport and Cortland Public Transit buses will be re-routed to the bus stop at Barton Hall. Customers who normally board and/or depart at the Sage Hall bus stop on East Avenue or the Tower Road bus stop across from Uris Hall must use the Tower Road/Kennedy bus stop or the Garden Avenue-Barton Hall bus stop during the closure.

Signs will be posted in the shelters to notify riders. A temporary route map can be found at http://www.parking.cornell.edu/pdf/EHOB-Detour.pdf.

The impacted areas will be repaved and East Avenue will be open for normal traffic flow by the end of the day, Oct. 26. Regular shuttle routes will resume on Oct. 29.

There are no utility disruptions planned during this construction. Contact Facilities Customer Service at (607) 255-3322 with any questions or concerns.
