Engineering and society panel to feature scientists, writers
A panel discussion on how scientists can increase media coverage of their research -- rather than make it their "best-kept secret" -- will take place Oct. 17, 9:30-11:30 a.m. in 700 Clark Hall. "Engineering and Society: Communicating with the Public" will be moderated by Chris Ober, associate dean for research and graduate studies in the College of Engineering, and will include a presentation by Scott Jaschik, former Chronicle of Higher Education editor and co-founder of Inside Higher Ed. Panelists will include associate professor of astronomy Jim Bell and professor of communication Bruce Lewenstein.
