Female high school students interested in engineering careers visited Cornell Oct. 19 for Women in Engineering Day, hosted by the College of Engineering.

The daylong program included an overview of the college and admissions process, lab tours, a panel discussion with faculty and students and opportunities to meet with members of the Society of Women Engineers.

Some of the students got to visit the Biorobotics and Locomotion Lab in Kimball Hall as part of their introduction to engineering at Cornell. Melissa Atocha, left, from Dr. Ronald E. McNair Academic High School in Jersey City, N.J., and Elizabeth Rosalia from Pascack Valley High School in River Vale, N.J., take a closer look at one of the lab's walking powered robots.
