Johnson School partners with Chinese business school

Cornell's Johnson School has forged a partnership with the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), one of the leading business schools in China.

The collaboration will include an MBA student exchange, a certificate program hosted by Johnson for an executive MBA outbound group from CKGSB, a joint energy certificate program for senior executives from the Chinese energy sector in Ithaca, and the Parker Center for Investment Research and related Johnson parties advising in the setup of the China Investment Fund at CKGSB.

"This collaboration will further Johnson's footprint in China, particularly among the elite business leaders in that region," said Ya-Ru Chen, the Nicholas H. Noyes Professor of Management and Global Business at the Johnson School.

"Our partnership with Johnson will help students of both schools better prepare for the increasingly globalized business world," said Li Zhou, assistant dean of CKGSB.

Johnson's ongoing commitment to expand its global imprint is a primary goal of the school's long-term strategic plan. Currently, Johnson has developed alliances through its certificate program with Nanjing and Peking universities in China; a similar certificate program with KAUST in Saudi Arabia; and its Executive MBA degree program with Canada's Queens University, which reaches professionals in nearly 20 cities in the U.S. and Canada and most recently, Colombia, South America.

Founded in Beijing in 2002 by Li Ka-shing, one of Asia's highly successful entrepreneurs, CKGSB is China's first private, nonprofit and independent business school. Headquartered in Beijing with campuses in Shanghai and Shenzhen, CKGSB offers MBA, EMBA and executive education programs. CKGSB's mission is to generate world-class insights on management theory and practice and to develop leaders for a new era of global business in China and beyond.
