Former CURW director Paul Jaquith dies

Rev. Dr. L. Paul Jaquith, director of Cornell United Religious Work (CURW) from 1958 to 1965, died Dec. 14, 2012, at age 88.

A retired minister of the United Methodist Church, Jaquith lived in Haverstraw, Long Island, N.Y.

Jaquith initiated CURW's Cornell in Honduras program, which celebrated its 50th anniversary 2010. That year he attended CURW's 80th anniversary celebration in New York City.

Also as director, Jaquith invited the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to preach at Sage Chapel Nov. 13, 1960. His letter confirming the invitation is among King's papers.
