Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday hit Barton Hall, April 17

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell Concert Commission will present alternative-rock bands Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday, with The Format, April 17 at the university's Barton Hall on campus.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are on sale now, for both Cornell students and the general public. Tickets for Cornell students with ID are $17 and can be purchased at the Willard Straight Hall ticket desk on campus and at http://www.cornelltickets.com . All others can purchase tickets for $23 at the locations above, Ticketmaster and at the Ithaca Guitar Works in downtown Ithaca. All tickets are general admission, and the doors open at 7 p.m.

Jimmy Eat World's fourth album Futures just made the Best of 2004 lists in Rolling Stone , Spin and Blender magazines. Taking Back Sunday was voted Artist of the Year by the Alternative Press readers as their sophomore album, Where You Want to Be debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 and was one of Rolling Stone 's top albums of 2004.

The Cornell Concert Commission is a student-run organization formed in 1971 and has put on a variety of shows over the years, including: B.B. King, Bob Dylan, No Doubt, Guster, Ludacris, Dashboard Confessional and Dave Matthews.
