Options are available for commuters affected by bridge work

Ten separate TCAT bus routes currently cross Thurston Avenue Bridge. The heavily used routes provide connections between Cornell's "A" and "B" parking lots and the Central Campus area; between North Campus and Central and West Campus; and between the Ithaca Commons and Pyramid Mall. During the bridge construction, riders are advised to allow a little extra travel time. For more information, TCAT riders may call 277-RIDE or check the TCAT Web site at http://www.tcatbus.com, which should have updated information beginning this week.

For those who park in "A" lot, you might consider joining one of the following Transportation Demand Management Programs:

  • OmniRide: a transit program that includes several one-day parking permits to use on days when riding the bus is not possible.
  • RideShare: a carpooling program that can allow low- or no-fee parking if you share your commute with one other eligible employee http://www.parking.cornell.edu/tms3_rideshare.html.
  • Occasional Parker Program: a program that provides a moderate supply of one-day parking permits for your occasional needs to drive to work.

Or change your parking permit to another area that is available:

  • "O" parking, by the Veterinary College ($12.60/pay period; free with a two-person RideShare).
  • "K" parking, eastern side of campus ($19.86/pay period; free with a three-person RideShare).
