Cornell student looking for online votes in National Geographic video contest

Ryan Stanisz, a sophomore in the College of Human Ecology, is looking for online votes in the National Geographic Preserve Our Planet film and public service announcement (PSA) contest. His video, "The New Animal Kingdom," shot at Cornell with an all-student cast, is one of three national finalists in the 30-second PSA contest. It shows the potential consequences of trash and waste -- how the pollution produced by humans could lead to the extinction of other species.

A panel of judges will choose the first-place winner, but the second-place video will be chosen by public votes on the National Geographic Web site. Voting has started and ends March 28.

Visit http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/preserve-our-planet/film-fest/psa.html to see the three finalists' videos and to vote.
