Louis H. Zalaznick Faculty Support Grants will support the efforts of 15 faculty members affiliated with Entrepreneurship@Cornell to expand their courses or add teaching assistants.

Zalaznick award winners for this year, and their projects, include:

• David BenDaniel, the Don and Margi Berens Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Johnson School -- to add a teaching assistant for his Entrepreneurship and Private Equity Immersion class;
• Alan Biloski, senior lecturer at the Johnson School and in the College of Arts and Sciences -- to create new content for two of his courses in investment banking and biotech businesses;
• Susan Cabrera, visiting lecturer at the Johnson School and the School for Hotel Administration -- to develop two new entrepreneurship courses at the Hotel School and support a new Hospitality Business Plan Competition;
• John Callister, the Harvey Kinzelberg Director of Entrepreneurship in Engineering -- to add a teaching assistant to his Entrepreneurship for Engineers course to help provide mentoring to students about business plans and presentations;
• Susan Christopherson, professor of city and regional planning -- to allow doctoral students to help develop masters classes and present them in her economic development course and in a special student colloquium;
• Ralph Christy, the J. Thomas Clark Professor of Entrepreneurship and Personal Enterprise, Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management -- to add teaching assistants to support an emerging markets course;
• Dan Cohen, the entrepreneur-in-residence at the eLab and lecturer at the ILR School -- to add teaching assistants for his classes in entrepreneurship;
• David Funk, director of Cornell's Program in Real Estate -- to add teaching assistants for a real estate industry seminar, a real estate management and marketing course, and a real estate transactions and deal structuring course;
• R. Brooke Hollis, executive director and lecturer, Sloan Program in Health Administration, College of Human Ecology -- to support an on-campus visit of a successful health care entrepreneur to share experiences and mentor students;
• Jan Katz, senior lecturer, Hotel School -- to add a teaching assistant to help students in an international marketing class as they gather primary data and prepare an international expansion plan for an entrepreneurial idea;
• James Quest, entrepreneur-in-residence, Hotel School -- to add a teaching assistant to collect, evaluate and publish a compendium of resources that could be useful for students across campus related to entrepreneurship;
• Wesley Sine, associate professor, Johnson School -- to add teaching assistants to support two classes focused on technology, innovation and entrepreneurship;
• Deborah Streeter, the Bruce F. Failing Sr. Professor of Personal Enterprise and Small Business Management, Dyson School ¬-- to add a mentor to help students in the financial modeling of their businesses during a small business management class;
• Michael Timmons, professor of biological and environmental engineering -- to add a teaching assistant to help with the Entrepreneurial Management for Engineers class, supporting student teams as they develop business plans; and
• Cindy van Es, senior lecturer in the Dyson School -- to add a teaching assistant to support students in the Decision Models class, in which student teams prepare an in-depth decision analysis project.

The grants program, administered by Entrepreneurship@Cornell, was established in 1993 by David W. Zalaznick '76, a Cornell trustee, and his wife Barbara '76, to honor David's father, Louis. The awards allow faculty members to extend their capacity to work with students.
