Grants available to enhance teaching and learning

The Center for Teaching Excellence has created a faculty grants program to support efforts to enhance teaching and learning. Up to five grants of $1,500 each are available on a competitive basis to Cornell teaching faculty members starting this spring. Funds can be used to develop or purchase course materials, hire graduate or undergraduate assistants and for other related expenses.

Proposals that address instructional challenges -- including upsizing of classes, reduced teaching assistant support, the need to evaluate the effect of instructional technology usage and efforts to comply with Middle States accreditation standards -- are encouraged. Deadline is Oct. 31. Decisions on awards will be made by early December.

More information and the application are available at http://www.cte.cornell.edu/campus/teach/faculty/facultygrants.html. For a preliminary reading of an application or help in developing proposals, contact David Way (255-2663; dgw2@cornell.edu) to schedule an appointment.
