Help welcome the Big Red home

Cornell is rolling out a Big Red Welcome for its remarkable men's basketball team at noon today at the entrance to Day Hall on the university campus.

Cornell painted the city of Syracuse red, as the team faced No. 1 seed Kentucky Thursday night in front of 25,000 fans at the Carrier Dome. Although the Big Red team fell in the Sweet 16, the season was marked by a series stunning upsets by Cornell, providing the university with a huge sense of pride.

Coach Steve Donahue and the team will arrive by bus at noon today in front of Day Hall, where Cornell's Big Red Band and cheerleaders will lead the celebration.

The entire Cornell community is urged to take a break and join together to cheer on some of Cornell's most amazing student athletes.
